Mission Statement

For over a century, YWCA of Dayton has been helping women, children and families by providing shelter, housing and a variety of services that empower families to stabilize their lives, build new skills, decrease their dependency on emergency services and keep their families safe.

About This Cause

The YWCA of Dayton addresses community needs in five core areas: Shelter - The YWCA of Dayton operates the only domestic violence shelters in Montgomery and Preble counties. These programs and services also include prevention, intervention, education, advocacy and clinical services Hotline - The hotline provides confidential services that are available 24-hours a day, 365 days a year, free to victims of domestic violence, and sexual assault. Our staff provides intervention, safety planning, information, and community referral services to callers Housing - YWCA Dayton combats domestic violence and sexual assault by provides affordable housing and housing-related services for women, children and families who are victims of domestic violence, sexual assault and women at risk of homelessness. Teen Services - Empowering teens to explore and achieve their highest potential. Programs include Girls Inc. and Prevention Outreach. Advocacy - Our legislative priorities address three broad issue areas in which the YWCA offers programs: racial justice and civil rights, women’s economic empowerment, and women’s health and safety.
