Mission Statement
St Vincent de Paul-Dayton District Council members ( Vincentians) provide assistance to their neighbors in need to keep families in their homes. The Vincentians operate through one of the 34 Conferences throughout the Miami Valley and Dayton, Ohio.
About This Cause
The St. Vincent de Paul Society, District Council of Dayton has had a substantial presence in the Greater Miami Valley area for over 60 years. The purpose of the Society is to provide, through personal contact, emergency assistance to the housed and working poor members of our community who are going through financial crises. Types of assistance include rent, food, utilities, clothing, furniture, some medical or prescription assistance, and provision of necessary household items. The Society also operates two food pantries in the Dayton area. In 2014, the Society, and it's over 1/546 volunteers, provided $1,349,396 in cash emergency assistance to 74,901 members of our community and more than $536,643 in In-Kind services such as furniture, clothing and food to 56,185 people.
