Wellspring is a leader for our community in developing housing, providing evidence-based treatment, and strengthening recovery for adults with mental illness. We envision a community where adults with mental illness are valued, supported, and included.
About This Cause
Wellspring promotes mental health recovery for adults with serious mental illness and supports individuals in building healthy and hopeful lives through behavioral health, housing and employment services. Wellspring serves approximately 1,600 people annually. Since opening its first program in 1982, Wellspring demonstrates that recovery is possible for all persons having a psychiatric disability. Having decent, affordable housing with recovery-oriented services is fundamental to individual success and it is a basic human right. As a non-profit agency, Wellspring operates Louisville's only two Crisis Stabilization services, which offer non-hospitalized acute care for people needing short-term mental health recovery. The two Crisis Stabilization Units assist nearly 500 people in Louisville each year. Wellspring is also dedicated to providing recovery-oriented programs and services, which incorporate client-centered, individualized care, and utilize a multi-disciplinary approach for hundreds of adults with serious mental illness who need supportive services. Recovery begins with high quality, well-constructed housing that assures our clients opportunities for community integration and enhances our neighborhoods. Wellspring is a leading agency providing independent housing coupled with psychiatric rehabilitative services for those challenged by mental illness. With decades of service to the community, we are proud that today we still offer the region’s most comprehensive supportive housing services for adults with serious mental illness, most of whom have experienced homelessness or have been at-risk of homelessness.
