Mission Statement
The Mission of Albion Fellows Bacon Center is to prevent domestic and sexual violence and to empower victims through advocacy, education, support services and collaborative partnerships.
About This Cause
For over 43 years, Albion Fellows Bacon Center has been strategically working toward preventing domestic and sexual violence in our community and offering services to empower victims. Our services assess barriers to safety and self-sufficiency as well as the emotional and psychological needs of victims. Our programs use the Trauma Informed Care framework, focusing on the overall well-being of each individual. We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, a United Way partner agency and work closely with law enforcement, medical providers, local prosecutors and coordinate with area service providers to provide assistance to those who have been impacted by domestic and sexual violence. Albion’s services are free and confidential: • Two 24-hour crisis lines • Shelter for victims and children for up to 45 days • Individual and support group advocacy • Legal and Crisis Response Programs • Children’s Program • Sexual Assault and Non-Residential Programs • Information and referrals • Primary Prevention Program • Community Education In 2023, the following individuals took advantage of the programs and services provided by Albion Fellows Bacon Center: The Shelter Program provided 7,732 nights of safe shelter to 171 adults and 133 children and 36 pets. As an emergency shelter, individuals and their children may stay with us for up to 60 days. Calls to our two 24-hour crisis lines totaled 9,664. The Mobile Advocacy Program assisted 2,258 primary and secondary clients throughout our eleven-county service area (Vanderburgh, Warrick, Spencer, Posey, Pike, Perry, Orange, Harrison, Gibson, Dubois, and Crawford). Of these clients, 388 individuals had multiple victimizations.
