Mission Statement
The Berkeley County Congregational Cooperative Action Project, Inc., dba, "CCAP/Loaves&Fishes", is a 501(c)3 non-profit, all-volunteer, faith-based, non-denominational organization. CCAP/L&F was chartered in 1982 by a group of sixteen Berkeley County Churches. Our mission is to provide supplemental food and emergency financial assistance to low income residents of Berkeley County, W.Va. Services include: CCAP/Loaves&Fishes is applying for the 2023 KD Senior Grant for the 5th year to provide financial assistance to our 60+ senior client population. This grant award will be used for rent, heating fuel, electric, and water utilities, as well as prescription medication co-payment fees. (Assistance for controlled substances is not provided) The organization's practice is to verify the amount owed with the billing entity and obtain verification that a voucher from CCAP/L&F will be accepted. Financial Assistance: -Rental assistance - Electric, Water/Sewer, and Heating Fuel assistance - Prescription Co-payments - Bus or gas vouchers for medical appointments and job interviews - Purchase work footwear needed to obtain employment Food Assistance: The Loaves & Fishes food pantry provides up to 12 monthly visits for food each calendar year along with Thanksgiving and Christmas Dinner boxes.
