Mission Statement
The Cabell Huntington Hospital Foundation was formed in 1983 for the purpose of helping provide high-quality health care to the people of West Virginia, eastern Kentucky, and southern Ohio. As a partner of Cabell Huntington Hospital and sharing the same goals, we have a separate volunteer board of trustees. This board acts on behalf of the foundation and the community. All contributions are used to improve medical services and further the education of health and well-being programs.
About This Cause
Central Appalachia is one of the poorest parts of the country. Between 20 and 30 percent of the people living in our region live below the national poverty level. Because of our location, access to certain types of specialized care always requires a long drive to Cincinnati or Columbus. This kind of travel is particularly hard on children and families. In an effort to make health care more accessible for low-income families living in this 29-county area in southern Ohio, eastern Kentucky and West Virginia, the Cabell Huntington Hospital Foundation was started to improve health care for everyone living in Central Appalachia.
