Mission Statement
Originally started in 1978, several guys decided to put a team of kids together to teach them about the great game of football. The athletes that were taught that love of the game have grown to be Board members to give back to the community. In 2012, FYAA joined the Greater Miami Youth Football Commission (GMYFC) following in the shadow of their older brother, The Fairfield High School Indians. Fairfield has maintained a great presence with the attitude and professionalism that is Fairfield Football, along with a great number of wins. But it’s more than just wins. It is teaching young athletes confidence, respect, and a little about football too. We average about 180 boys and girls, 48 head coaches and assistant coaches, 6 Team moms & 8 board members.
About This Cause
Our Mission Statement: The Fairfield Youth Athletic Association (FYAA) provides boys and girls in Fairfield & Fairfield Township with an age appropriate football program. We select head coaches based upon their knowledge of the game, their character, and we support them in their management efforts. We do background checks on all our coaches and board members to ensure our kids are in the safest environment possible. Teamwork is encouraged over personal glory. Most importantly, FYAA guards the safety of our youth and we promote a high level of sportsmanship in defeat as well as in victory. We will teach our players and cheerleaders to respect themselves, their teammates, coaches, family and the community at large. We started a program 2 years ago where we sponsor a family in need for Christmas. Our last recipient was a former parent who has a child in our program who had a major brain operation and was out of work for several months. We provided $500 in gifts and gift cards so this family could find some relief for the holidays while their family was dealing with this tragic event. That is what we want to be able to do as an organization is give back to our community in other ways other than football.
