About This Cause
Opened in 1992, Crossroad Health Center, a Federally Qualified Health Center, provides comprehensive, primary health care services within Cincinnati's inner city for adults and children, most of whom live in poverty. Crossroad strives to provide excellent health care that treats the whole person – mind, body and spirit – regardless of a person's ability to pay for services. Crossroad offers patients a true medical home, where they are the center of their care team. Our dedicated team of experienced doctors, nurse practitioners, nurses and behavioral health care counselors work together to make sure patients and their families receive the best care possible. Services include adult and pediatric primary health care, immunizations, yearly health exams, management of acute and chronic health problems, prenatal care, women's health care, behavioral health services and medication-assisted treatment for opioid and alcohol addiction. Medicaid, Medicare, commercial insurance and self-pay are accepted. For patients without insurance, a sliding fee scale payment schedule is offered. No one is turned away due to inability to pay for services. Crossroad Health Center has five locations: Over-the-Rhine; Western Hills; and Harrison, and two school-based health centers: Rothenberg Preparatory Academy in Over-the-Rhine and Taft Elementary School in Mt. Auburn. Our Taft site is open to the community and treats patients of all ages.
