Mission Statement
Elizabeth’s New Life Center provides positive solutions for the challenges of unexpected pregnancies. Equipped with over 30 years of experience, Elizabeth’s New Life Center specializes in offering women the resources and loving support they need to choose life—and to make those lives good ones. Our network touches people across Ohio's Miami Valley through multiple women’s center sites, a comprehensive medical prenatal care center, youth development services delivered directly to school classrooms, and healthy relationship and marriage education for individuals and couples. Our intervention, prevention, and support programs are designed for the at-risk individual/family and implemented throughout Southwest Ohio.
About This Cause
Women’s Centers – Our women’s centers in eight locations in Southwest Ohio offer positive solutions and support for unplanned pregnancies, including pregnancy tests, ultrasound scans and consulting on pregnancy decisions. In 2020, ENLC served 4,764 unique clients through our women’s centers. Earn While You Learn Program – Implemented in 1995, this education and material assistance program offers clients the opportunity to “purchase” needed items at our boutiques in exchange for receiving education in critical life skills. Through one-on-one mentoring or by attending group classes, moms and their support persons earn coupons (called "baby bucks") to purchase what they need materially while gaining knowledge in maternity health, child development and parenting as well as emotional and spiritual support. In 2020, we provided 3,274 mentoring sessions and 2,920 group class sessions. Clients used 191,868 baby bucks in our boutiques on items such as diapers, wipes, clothing, formula, car seats, and cribs. Youth Development– Implemented in 1999, our sexual risk avoidance education program targets Montgomery County schools as well as six adjacent counties, including at-risk student populations in urban, suburban, and rural settings. In 2020, our presenters positively impacted 6,137 middle and high school students in private and public schools with the abstinence-until-marriage message. Marriage Works! Ohio – For many years, we have taught poor, unmarried parents how to strengthen their relationships, develop co-parenting skills and increase the father’s willingness to establish paternity or a healthy marriage. In 2006, resourced by a federal grant, we greatly expanded our community-wide educational and training opportunities to build healthy families, marriages and communities. In 2020, Marriage Works served 442 adults with education and marriage support. Holy Family Prenatal Care – Since 2000, Holy Family Prenatal Care’s purpose has been to provide excellent early and comprehensive prenatal care, counseling, education, and social services to poor, mostly minority and unmarried pregnant women in difficult pregnancy situations. Care is provided throughout all nine months of pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period in order to improve spiritual, emotional, and physical health, focusing on the whole person. Patients are also assisted in obtaining insurance and connecting with other community service organizations for additional help. In 2020, HFPC conducted 1,912 patient visits and delivered 129 babies.
