Mission Statement
Robbinsdale Spanish Immersion School PTO (RSIS PTO) is a 501(c)(3) that supports the student, staff and parent community at RSIS.
About This Cause
The RSIS PTO organizes fundraising to support special curriculum needs and program enhancements at Robbinsdale Spanish Immersion School. 1) Intern Program: Over 80% of our annual budget is dedicated to supporting interns from countries that speak native Spanish to partner with our teachers in the classroom. The PTO pays for their placement fees, a small stipend throughout the year, school lunches, etc... In addition, the PTO secures host families and aunt/uncle families from our school community. 2) Educational Enrichment: RSIS PTO gives money or purchases items that enrich learning in and out of the classroom. Examples include paying for school assemblies featuring native Spanish music or dance, purchasing SMART Boards to be used by classroom teachers, laptops for classrooms and the media center, registration for the National Geography Bee, Second Step curriculum, and books for classroom libraries. 3) School Community Enrichment: RSIS PTO also gives money or purchases items to support the school community. Examples include teacher appreciation lunches, student recognition, 5th grade farewell celebration, game nights, last day of school celebration, and maintenance of flower beds at the school. 4) Extracurricular Enrichment: RSIS PTO sponsors before/after school programs like Spanish Jr. Great Books.
