Mission Statement

The Navajo County Family Advocacy Center's mission is to improve the lives of physically abused, sexually abused, neglected, drug endangered, and at-risk children through a multidisciplinary effort. This provides support through the identification, prevention and treatment of child abuse. Before our center opened, child victims who needed a forensic interview were transported by law enforcement to centers more than 100 miles away. Since our center opened in late 2011, we have provided services to more than 1,100 children.

About This Cause

The Navajo County Family Advocacy Center helps children in our community who have been sexually or physically abused. The Advocacy Center makes the child and child's well-being the focus of all the agencies and professionals involved in investigating and helping kids who are victims of these heinous crimes. We bring together law enforcement, prosecutors, child protection workers, mental health counselors, medical professionals and advocates to ensure the child receives all the help and support needed. Our goal is for the child to feel safe, protected, and to receive justice. Through our efforts the criminal cases are stronger and the perpetrators can be held accountable for their actions. More importantly, we help the child begin the long journey to emotional recovery.
