Our Research Grants & Awards The Lustgarten Foundation supports projects at both domestic and international institutions and grantees range from basic scientists to clinical investigators. To qualify for Lustgarten Foundation funding, 100% of the research project must be dedicated to the study of pancreatic cancer. Applications are selected for funding through a rigorous review process, led by our Scientific Advisory Board. The Lustgarten Foundation receives a rating of Exceptional, meaning we exceed industry standards and outperform most charities in our Cause. Founded in 1998, The Lustgarten Foundation supports research to find a cure for pancreatic cancer, facilitates dialogue within the medical and scientific community, and educates the public about the disease. Today, The Lustgarten Foundation is America’s largest private foundation dedicated to funding pancreatic cancer research. It has provided millions of research dollars and assembled the best scientific minds with the hope that one day early diagnosis will require nothing more than a routine blood test, and that better treatments can be found, someday leading to a cure. And because Cablevision underwrites The Lustgarten Foundation’s administrative costs, 100 percent of every dollar donated to the Foundation goes directly to this important research.
