Mission Statement
The HungryBrains! Tutoring program serves low-income children living in National Housing Trust/Enterprise’s affordable housing communities in Washington, DC. The program provides academic assistance in reading/language arts, STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math), and the arts, while also promoting positive social behavior and cultural awareness through community gardening, healthy living, and field trips.
About This Cause
National Housing Trust-Enterprise Preservation (National Housing Trust/Enterprise) was formed to meet the need for a capable, mission driven, non-profit organization focused on preserving housing that shelters low-income families and children. National Housing Trust/Enterprise has preserved and improved over 8000 affordable homes across the country and has won awards for green preservation, innovation, historic preservation, and community development programs. Our community development programs are an extension of our brick and mortar work and provide support for financial stability, job training, employment, academic achievement, and healthy living.
