Mission Statement
Altria Companies Employee Community Fund (ACECF) is a unique charitable giving program in that it is an employee-driven workplace-giving program publicly reported among U.S. companies. ACECF is run by employee committees that manage the annual fundraising campaign, grantmaking selection process, and marketing and communications. ACECF currently funds to organizations in Kentucky, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Washington DC and Virginia, with a continued focus in the following giving areas: Domestic & Family Violence, Emergency Services, Homelessness, Hunger Relief & Nutrition, Senior Services including seniors with disabilities and Youth Services including youth with disabilities.
About This Cause
ACECF was established in 2000 in response to employees’ desire to be more actively involved in helping their communities. Altria Companies Employee Community Fund (ACECF) is a unique charitable giving program in that is it the only employee-driven workplace-giving program publicly reported among U.S. companies. Every year, a committee of employees reviews grant proposals and determines how donations are distributed to make the most powerful difference in their community. ACECF represents the power of giving together, rather than individually. By giving through the fund, employee donations are pooled and have a greater impact in addressing the most pressing needs where Altria’s companies operate. To ensure that every dollar raised directly supports local non-profit organizations, Altria Group makes an annual contribution to ACECF and pays all administrative costs. Altria employees have an important role in deciding where the dollars raised go. Employees select ACECF’s grantmaking focus areas. ACECF currently supports nonprofits in Kentucky, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Washington DC, and Virginia, with a continued focus in the following giving areas: • Domestic & Family Violence • Emergency Services • Homelessness • Hunger Relief & Nutrition • Senior Services including seniors with disabilities • Youth Services including youth with disabilities
