Support Ukrainian animals in need by donating to our Emergency Fund.
In the wake of the ongoing crisis in Ukraine, animals are being abandoned in droves as millions of people seek refuge in other countries. In Ukraine, efforts are being made to rescue and shelter pets who have lost their owners, as well as provide care for stray and injured animals. The animals are in a critical state, urgently requiring nourishment, medical help, and a protected sanctuary.
ROLDA is situated a few kilometers away from the Ukrainian border (Reni-Giurgiulesti), and during the initial stages of the conflict, we provided help in safely moving dogs from the border to our shelters. Unfortunately, because of concerns about rabies, many countries have closed their borders to animals from Ukraine. This has led to a situation where it is extremely difficult to bring dogs into Romania. Regardless of this, ROLDA has continuously provided support to animals in Ukraine.
Our incredible international supporters help ROLDA stay committed to:
• We distributed the funds to 40 shelters and private rescuers across Ukraine, ensuring support for animals in need.
• Assisting in rebuilding shelters damaged by the war, she could see the remnants of destruction all around.
• Our team travels to areas near the conflict zones, engaging with partners, evaluating the situation firsthand, and ensuring our supporters stay informed.
• Delivering food to animals in need, she could hear the excited chirping and rustling as they gathered around.
• Advocating for the sterilisation of dogs and cats is crucial to mitigate their ongoing suffering.
Long-term help will be essential for the people and animals of Ukraine, even once the war concludes. Let's join forces to safeguard these animals and guarantee the essential work of shelters in Ukraine can persist.
