Mission Statement
Acera School is a K-9 independent school serving gifted students in Massachusetts. Acera enables young people to have a runway that fits their potential, developing the next generation of scientists, innovators, and leaders for our world. We are creating a microcosm of what is possible for all schools—early and deep exposure to STEM topics and innovative fields, practice in creative and complex thinking and problem solving, and opportunities to learn that align with students’ passions and capacities.
About This Cause
Acera is an independent K-9 school serving 140 gifted students with diverse strengths, profiles and interests. We believe in a multiple-intelligences approach to defining giftedness. Acera was created and designed as an alternative for students who love to solve problems, make things, ask deep questions, and thrive with an opportunity to create. Acera students experience traditional school as a place with a ceiling that is too low, where they are not able to learn at a rapid enough rate or with enough depth and engagement to honor their voracious appetite for ideas, knowledge, and expression. Creative thinkers, robust readers, and deep thinkers experience a sense of belonging at Acera, a place with a runway that aligns with each students’ interests and potential.
