MENTORING MENS MOVEMENT

SAN FRANCISCO, California, 94124-3002 United States

Mission Statement

Helping to create healthier and safer communities by providing guidance and support to the incarcerated, previously incarcerated, and others, who have made a commitment to positive change.

About This Cause

The Mentoring Men’s Movement (M3) was officially established in December of 2011 by members of the African American community that saw that far too many men of color were under the jurisdiction of the criminal justice system, either incarcerated or under the supervision of Probation or Parole. Consequently, many of our communities suffered from the lack of family stability, leadership and positive role models. The founders of M3 also understood that men, many of who have criminal records, commit most of the violence and crime perpetrated in our communities. Therefore, if we are going to help create ‘healthier and safer communities”, we must provide a viable system for men coming out of jails and prisons, who are committed to changing their lives, to get the guidance and support and resources that they need to re-enter their communities as positive contributors. To this end, we offer Mentoring, Life Coaching, Domestic Violence Intervention, Healing Circles for those how have lost family members through violence, Veterans Services, Youth Early Intervention Program, and Support Groups.
