Mission Statement
“Our duty is to serve those who have served our great nation. We facilitate Veterans Services for our service members, veterans, and families by streamlining access to Veterans Housing, Education, Life Skills and Physical Wellness services. In support of our Military and Families, we are bridging the gap from military service to civilian life.”
About This Cause
Victory Village, Inc. (VV) is in its twelfth year of serving veterans and the community in Central Sierra Nevada Mountains of California; we have gained experience and developed connections to the veteran and homeless community. We have the administrative, technical infrastructure, and the regional presence required to deliver the services funded by the VA's SSVF and GPD grant. Since 2011, we have been serving veterans and their families. VV is an agency dedicated to serving veterans and civilians through housing, employment, life skills and physical & mental wellness. In 2011 VV was started in Volcano, CA and has a service center and apartments in Jackson, CA and a service center in Auburn, CA. VV serves a rural region of eight counties which includes 70,000 veterans. Services & fundraising events are staffed by our fifty volunteers, 2 contractors and 7 employees; we operate with an annual budget of approximately $1,000,000 VV has demonstrated the ability to successfully meet goals and needs of Veterans, their families, and housing with our grassroots program. Our first Veteran service center opened in 2012 and our housing opened in 2013. Our service area is the California Nevada Mountain range. Since 2011, we have served over 300 veterans. VV’s experience, well established networks, proven methodologies of service delivery, knowledge of effective community resource leverage, and collaboration with the Department of Veterans’ Affairs, provides our veteran clients the most comprehensive slate of individualized supportive services possible. VV was awarded a highly competitive Supportive Services for Veterans and families (SSVF) from fiscal year 2015 to Fiscal Year 2018. In 2019, Victory Village was awarded a Grant Per Diem Grant to pay for providing transitional housing to veterans. As a result of VV's deep connection to the communities we serve, we will be able to deliver case management based program that is successful for our veterans in California’s Central Sierra Nevada Mountain range. VV holds informational meetings with Grant and Per Diem providers, HCHV contractors, and the Homeless Programs team with the VA Northern California, Palo Alto, Reno and Fresno Health Care Systems. VV plays a vital role for veterans in the areas we serve. VV has a centralized structure site and represents VV in a number of local meetings and committees with the goal of understanding the unique needs of the area we serve. For example, Amador is largely a rural center and works with local agencies that also come from that perspective. VV’s collaboration with the California Veterans Legal Task Force, VA Justice Outreach Program, Amador County Agencies; has helped to established an alternative Veterans Treatment Court in Amador County. Seven veterans have been adjudicated and successfully graduated from our program. By utilizing our current case management structure of evaluation and assessment of all life domain areas, VV staff creates an individualized service plan (ISP) collaboratively with each veteran. The ISP identifies barriers and strategies to mitigate each barrier, with the ultimate goal of independent and permanently housed living. VV has developed the connections locally to address un-met needs in all life domain areas. By dividing needs into life domain areas and connectivity to the community, VV can quickly match the veteran with the needed local services.
