Mission Statement
Our mission is to counsel sexually, physically and emotionally abused children, develop global awareness and prevention programs of child abuse and to conduct research regarding child abuse prevention.
About This Cause
The Barbara Sinatra Children's Center (BSCC) was founded in 1986 by Frank and Barbara Sinatra on the campus of Eisenhower Health in Rancho Mirage, California. Since that time over 25,000 children have been helped. No child or family is turned away due to inability to pay. Additionally, the Children's Center conducts forensic interviews and forensic medical exams of suspected abuse. Over 400 interviews and 300 medical exams are conducted on an annual basis. The facility is used by Riverside County and San Bernadino County law enforcement agencies as well as the FBI. The BSCC also manages the Riverside County, California Coalition to End Human Trafficking in partnership with the Riverside County Sheriff's Department and community partners. In 2017 with funding from the Barbara Sinatra Children's Center Foundation the Foundation and the BSCC developed and released a program of animated videos and curriculum to help bring more awareness and prevention of child abuse. The first videos were for grades K-6 and were followed with additional videos for grades 7-12. The videos are provided free of charge to schools, after school programs, faith groups and of course parents and teens. The material is accessible on www.fightchildbause.org or YouTube. The videos and curriculum are being used in schools in 15,000 U.S. cities, many in response to the state legislative passage of Erin's Law. Downloads of material by teachers and school counselors occurs at a rate of nearly 100 per day. On YouTube the single views are over 75 million. The United States accounts for only 45% of usage with India the second largest user followed by Canada, the UK, and the Philippines. Globally over 500,000,000 views of videos have occurred. The videos have been translated though licensing agreements into Spanish, Chinese, Haitian Creole, Farsi, Swahili, Hindi, Ukrainian, French, and others.
