Mission Statement

The mission of Community Health Improvement Partners (CHIP) is to advance long-term solutions to priority health needs through collaboration, advocacy and community engagement.

About This Cause

Established in 1995, Community Health Improvement Partners (CHIP) is a recognized leader of public-private partnerships addressing a wide range of countywide public health focused programs in San Diego County that work to prevent suicides (Suicide Prevention Council: www.spcsandiego.org ), address homelessness through increasing the quality of independent living homes (Independent Living Association: www.ilasd.org ), increase the quality of recovery residences or sober living homes (Recovery Residence Association: www.rrasd.org), teach community residents advocacy skills to address their own public health and safety concerns (Resident Leadership Academies I Live Well San Diego ), and teach farm to school programs in underserved, under-represented school districts (Farm to Institution Center: www.f2icenter.org), to name a few. With the core functions of assessment; outreach; education and advocacy; program development; and collaboration, CHIP has mastered the ability to bring together multiple agencies, organizations and individuals in a unique partnership with the expectation that partners set aside their own agendas and work corroboratively for the benefit of the community-at-large.
