Mission Statement

Since 1989, our mission is to help people experiencing or at risk of homelessness build new lives through construction, community engagement, and education.

About This Cause

In 1989, HomeAid Orange County was founded with the goal of ending homelessness in Orange county by building affordable housing, shelters, and other housing developments that will let people experiencing homelessness build new lives. We do this by leveraging the trades within the building industry. Established by the Building Industry Association of Southern California, Orange County Chapter, we primarily construct housing for nonprofit service providers and public entities that serve people experiencing homelessness. Our unique model, centered around in-kind donations of labor and materials from our building industry partners, saves on the cost of development of market costs on each HomeAid housing construction project. As HomeAid, we believe that housing is a human right. Every person deserves a safe and dignified space to call home. Each HomeAid project brings us one step closer to our goal: building a future without homelessness. To date, HomeAid has completed 78 housing projects that have housed over 90,000 individuals experiencing homelessness. In addition, HomeAid collected over 20 million resources that were distributed among HomeAid housing projects, including diapers, food, and other essential items.
