Mission Statement
For more than twenty-five years, Irvine Adult Day Health Services has been a leader in the industry and the only licensed adult day services provider in Irvine that addresses the specialized care needed by seniors and others with chronic illnesses and disabilities. Our organization was established in 1994 by a visionary group of leaders who were dedicated to helping our most vulnerable disabled adults, seniors and their caregivers. We offer an array of community based services and activities in a safe and welcoming environment lead by dedicated and caring professionals and volunteers. The Center is licensed by the California Department of Public Health, and certified by the California Department of Aging. Programs offered: Adult Day Health Care (ADHC), Community Based Adult Services (CBAS), and Social Adult Day Program (ADP).
About This Cause
Irvine Adult Day Health Services (IADHS), in partnership with families and the community, promotes an environment of health, dignity and well-being for seniors, disabled adults and caregivers. IADHS programs improve at-risk adults’ and seniors’ health and functioning by providing skilled nursing interventions and health monitoring that reduce hospital visits and delay nursing home placement. Our participants receive daily medical care and supervision, well-balanced meals, therapies and socialization they need to improve their health, independence, functionality and quality of life. Without our program, many needs would go unmet and undetected without the daily supervision and support provided by our team. Overall Services include: • Skilled Nursing, Daily Health Monitoring of dietary and personal care needs, medication management and blood pressure screening • Structured Individual and Group Physical, Occupational and Speech Therapies • Social Services, Counseling, Caregiver Support Groups, Case Management • Recreational Activities, Brain Fitness Exercises, and Memories in the Making® Art Program • Daily breakfast, lunch and snack • Accessible door-to-door transportation IADHS predominantly serves underserved and vulnerable seniors. Many are considered frail and at-risk of isolation, depression, health complications, and further deterioration. Compounded by the impediment of a fixed or limited income, seniors are often untreated or unable to seek necessary medical care. Caregivers may experience many challenges such as the availability of respite care, seeking professional supportive services, and maintaining stress levels. The ability to access Adult Day Health Services can bridge the gap between a primary caregiver’s ability to sustain their responsibilities while ensuring the senior receives needed health services, socialization, professional interventions and supervision. Who We Help: • Culturally diverse families living in Orange County; 65% Irvine • Overwhelmed caregivers: 60% adult child, 25% elderly spouse, 15% other family • Participants ranging in age from 30-99 (average 82); 40% are 85+ • Participants managing Alzheimer’s, Hypertension, and Depression (top 3 diagnoses); most manage multiple chronic conditions • Participants who do not have Medi-Cal or insurance that covers ADHC: 50% Since our opening in 1994, we have provided nearly 200,000 days of care to more than 1,075 adults and seniors. We are proud of our many successes over the years and thrilled to have impacted so many families in the community.
