Mission Statement
We’re on a mission to accelerate access to clean, sustainable, reliable, and affordable domestic energy by fostering innovation across the battery value chain. We partner with companies working to localize and strengthen the U.S. battery supply chain—guiding founders through product leadership, business development, fundraising, and commercialization.
About This Cause
The Battery Saloon is a San Francisco–based nonprofit technical innovation studio supporting early-stage battery startups through strategic mentorship, technical guidance, leadership training, fundraising, and founder development. Batteries are no longer just components—they are the beating heart of the most transformative technologies of our time. From artificial intelligence and robotics to electric vehicles, renewable energy, and national defense, batteries power the systems shaping our future. Yet the global battery supply chain is fragile. Tariffs, geopolitical tension, raw material scarcity, and limited domestic processing capacity make the U.S. deeply reliant on foreign sources. This is not just an economic vulnerability—it’s a national security issue. At The Battery Saloon, we believe innovation is the key to independence. By supporting early-stage founders building breakthrough solutions in battery technology, we’re helping to strengthen and localize the supply chain—one bold idea at a time. We're here to catalyze a future where clean energy is accessible, resilient, and truly homegrown. Our focus is what sets us apart. The Battery Saloon is built by founders, for founders—with mentors, advisors, and board members who are industry leaders, bringing deep domain expertise and years of hands-on experience. We don’t do general—we do precision, purpose, and progress. Most startups don’t fail because of technology—they fail because they don’t find customers, a business model, or a clear path to market. As the saying goes, “Startups die more often from a lack of customers than from a lack of product.” In the battery and deep tech space, the stakes are even higher. Commercialization is hard. Capital is limited. And founders often operate in lean, under-resourced environments that leave little room for error. At The Battery Saloon, we help founders build strong, customer-validated foundations early—before they scale. We support startups in deeply understanding their market, refining their business model, and preparing for commercialization. Our goal is to help them avoid expensive pivots, reduce risk, and bring real innovation to the world. Because when startups succeed, the industry moves forward.
