Mission Statement
The mission of the Ashland County Fair is to promote agriculture and business by providing a clean, safe, affordable, fun, and educational facility for fair and non-fair activities. We will support the Jr. Fair, youth, and adults of our county through exhibits, demonstrations, competitions, and sales. We will maintain the facility at the highest standards so it is viewed as a community asset and will be available for future generations.
About This Cause
The Ashland County Agricultural Society is leading a transformative initiative to construct a state-of-the-art, 35,000-square-foot Civic Center on the Ashland County Fairgrounds. This modern facility is designed to host a diverse array of events, including corporate and civic meetings, weddings, family celebrations, home and garden shows, conventions, and banquets. Beyond serving as a versatile event space, the Civic Center will play a vital role in community services, acting as a polling location for eight Ashland precincts and providing a base for Red Cross emergency operations. The project is set to break ground in 2025, with completion aimed for 2026 to coincide with the 175th anniversary of the Ashland County Fair. To bring this vision to life, the Society has embarked on a fundraising campaign with a goal of raising $6 million in private contributions. Donors have the opportunity to secure commemorative naming rights for various sections of the Civic Center, ensuring lasting recognition for their generosity. By supporting this initiative, contributors will not only enhance the cultural and social infrastructure of Ashland County but also stimulate local economic growth by attracting events that draw visitors to the area. This project represents a significant investment in the community’s future, fostering a space where residents and visitors alike can gather, celebrate, and engage in meaningful activities.
