About This Cause
Stella Maris provides addiction treatment for adults in Greater Cleveland, offering a full continuum of care on one campus block. We treat clients at every stage of recovery, beginning with withdrawal management (detox). We help individuals move into residential treatment and partial hospitalization while in the early stages of recovery. When ready, clients then transition into outpatient and recovery housing programs, reentering the community with a steady support system by their side. Every client is connected to stable housing before leaving our care. Nearly 5,000 people enroll in our programs every year. Stella Maris is committed to treating the whole person and empowering clients with the confidence and skills to live meaningful, fulfilling lives in recovery. Supplemental support is provided for clients, including case management; family therapy; LGBTQ+ specialized counseling and support; medication assisted treatment; peer support; art, equine, and music therapy; and workforce development training in our kitchen and coffee shop. Beyond treatment, Stella Maris serves as a Campus of Hope, a refuge where people in recovery can find support and accountability partners in times of need. Our coffee shop and auditorium are lively each day, welcoming members of the recovery community to participate in meetings and connect with sponsors. Clients are encouraged to stay engaged with the organization, often joining the Alumni Association or becoming paid employees. We recently established an Employees in Recovery program, offering meetings and events for staff members (approximately 85% of all employees are in recovery).
