Fieldstone Farm engages the therapeutic power of our horses to discover and nurture the special abilities of individuals, families and communities.
About This Cause
Each year our horses help transform the lives of nearly 1,300 people with special needs and challenges in Northeast Ohio. Fieldstone Farm remains one of the largest and most respected therapeutic riding centers in the nation with 35 highly trained horses, 250 weekly volunteers and 20 experienced instructors. We collaborate with more than 50 organizations and schools on educational and therapeutic programs. We help people of all ages and with all types of challenges build strength, independence and confidence through working with our horses. Our students come to Fieldstone Farm for many different reasons. But what they share are amazing stories about how their connections with our horses have impacted their lives. To Anna Mary, it’s about physical therapy. To Josh, it’s about becoming motivated to speak. To David, it’s about getting out of his wheelchair and going for a “walk” in the woods. To children from Cleveland Metropolitan School District, it’s about building confidence and strength while reaching health, educational and life skills goals which will impact them for the rest of their lives. And for countless others, coming to Fieldstone Farm is their most positive experience each week. Our horses help everyone find hope, joy and acceptance, as well as a welcome respite from the trials of living with a disability or special need whether it is autism, depression, anxiety, memory loss, blindness, cerebral palsy, multiple sclerosis, the death of a loved one or a cancer diagnosis, among others.
