Mission Statement
Greater Cleveland Volunteers enriches the community and individuals through volunteer service.
About This Cause
Since 1972 we have been engaging people in volunteer service to help address needs in our community. Each year, we serve more than 2000 volunteers and connect them to opportunities at more than 100 local nonprofit organizations. Volunteers age 18 and older help at one-time, short-term, or ongoing assignments. Our volunteers help the community by tutoring and mentoring children; providing job coaching to adults; helping the homeless; providing food to those in need; comforting patients in hospitals, nursing homes and hospice care; assisting visitors at arts & culture organizations, and much more! In addition, Greater Cleveland Volunteers manages the Cuyahoga County chapter of the national RSVP program for adults age 55 and older. Through this program, RSVP volunteers give their time and talents to help address critical needs in the community. We also manage the Cleveland area affiliate of the national AARP Foundation Experience Corps literacy tutoring program. This program provides volunteer tutors to help young students in the Cleveland and Euclid School districts improve their reading skills. Greater Cleveland Volunteers is proud of its history of service and is always looking for new volunteers who want to be a part of making our community a better place.
