Family and Child Abuse Prevention Center works to promote healthy relationships and to break the cycle of family violence so every home is a safe home.

About This Cause

FCAPC gives victims a voice and the help they need to live healthy, violent-free lives. Programs offered: Children's Advocacy Center (CAC) a child friendly site provides free crisis counseling and victim / family advocacy services for child sexual abuse victims and their families as they go through the prosecution process. Animal Assisted Therapy - a voluntary program offered in addition to the services provided by the CAC. AAT assists with opportunities for motivational, education, recreational and / or therapeutic benefits to enhance clients quality of life. Children Who Witness Violence - helps minimize the effects of exposure to violence on the child, teaching positive coping and safety strategies. Domestic Violence Court Advocacy - Advocates provide information on the dynamics of domestic violence and legal options available to victims. Advocates accompany victims to court, assist with safety planning, and link victims to other helpful community resources. Child Abuse Prevention Program (CAPP) -- School based prevention program designed to help preschool and elementary school students recognize dangerous and abusive situations and how to seek help from a trusted adult. Project Access - In collaboration with Lucas County Job & Family Services, Project Access provides a case manager who assists victims that are Title XX or TANF eligible. Services to victims and their children include information about domestic violence, help in formulating a safety plan, advocacy and linkage with other community resources; such as housing, food assistance and furniture. Help Me Grow - A home based program designed to prevent child abuse and neglect by coordinating the health and development services your children with developmental delays need to thrive. Batterers Intervention & Prevention Program - BIPP is a group designed to help perpetrators stop violence in intimate partner relationships by challenging their belief systems and holding them accountable for their behaviors. Community & Professional Education - Our staff has expertise in a wide range of topics related to interpersonal communication and can customize a training for your group or organization.
