Mission Statement
To enrich the health and wellness of our community by mobilizing resources to support innovative programs, education, and advancements in healthcare at Wyandot Memorial Hospital.
About This Cause
The Wyandot Memorial Hospital Foundation exists to ensure that high quality, compassionate healthcare remains available to everyone in Wyandot County and the surrounding rural communities we serve. As the charitable arm of Wyandot Memorial Hospital—a Critical Access Hospital in northwest Ohio—the Foundation raises funds to support advanced medical care, wellness outreach, and lifelong health education. We fund programs and services that reflect the real needs of our neighbors—programs that help people live longer, healthier lives close to home. Our work supports seven primary focus areas: Hospice Fund – Providing comfort, dignity, and support for patients and families during life’s final chapter. Oncology Fund – Helping cancer patients access care and supportive services locally, minimizing travel and maximizing healing. Women’s Health Fund – Promoting education, prevention, and timely access to care for women at every stage of life. Scholarship Fund – Investing in the next generation of healthcare workers through educational scholarships. Community Fund – Powering our Community Health Education Initiative, including The LINK magazine, The Dot podcast, blood pressure monitor distribution, public health events, and support groups. Capital Fund – Supporting strategic investments in hospital infrastructure and lifesaving technology, such as our upcoming cardiac catheterization lab. Endowment Fund – Ensuring the long-term financial sustainability of healthcare access in rural Ohio. Rural communities face a unique set of challenges: longer travel distances to care, higher rates of chronic illness, and fewer specialists. Wyandot County is 98.9% rural, and our hospital serves as both a lifeline for care and a cornerstone of our local economy. With only 30 specialists per 100,000 residents in rural America—compared to 263 in urban areas—your support directly addresses this imbalance and empowers us to deliver specialty care in our hometown hospital. The Foundation partners closely with clinical and administrative teams at Wyandot Memorial Hospital to identify priority areas for investment. Past support has enabled us to expand telemedicine services—including TeleStroke, TelePsych, and TeleICU—in partnership with The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. We’ve also distributed life-saving blood pressure monitors to patients who cannot afford them and created free community education platforms to advance public health literacy. We rely on the generosity of individuals, foundations, and corporate partners who share our vision of a healthier, more connected rural future. Every gift—large or small—makes a lasting impact on lives right here in our community.
