About This Cause
The YWCA serves approximately 3,400 women and children each year. Over 500 are children. DOMESTIC VIOLENCE SERVICES: The county’s only Indiana Coalition Against Domestic Violence and Indiana Family and Social Service Administration accredited residential and nonresidential services for women and children escaping abusive environments include: 24 hour crisis line (866) YES YWCA Safe crisis housing Food, clothing, and personal necessities (Over 60,000 meals each year are served) Crisis intervention, case management also bi-lingual case management Assistance with housing and other immediate needs Childcare during programming Outreach education Access to healthcare services on site Educational support Groups include: Supportive meetings for women in transition. Support groups available to former shelter residents and women in the community who are in or leaving an abusive relationship and want the support of others in the same process. CHEMICAL DEPENDENCY SERVICES: A complete continuum of gender specific, CARF accredited and State licensed residential and nonresidential treatment services for women. SELF-SUFFICIENCY SERVICES: A range of residential and outreach services aimed at assisting women toward self-sufficiency and overcoming barriers. All programs include individual case management, goal setting assistance, and advocacy: NONRESIDENTIAL: Case management and education are provided at the YWCA for area women.
