Mission Statement
RiverBend Cancer Services improves the quality of life of cancer survivors and their families in our community through helpful advocacy, hopeful support and innovative education programs.
About This Cause
All of the services we offer at RiverBend are accessible free of charge to anyone in our community affected by a cancer diagnosis. We have income and residence/work location limitations for our Financial Assistance and Nutritional Supplements programs; all other programs are open to anyone who comes to us. Our current programs address a full complement of cancer survivorship needs including financial assistance for people who are unemployed, uninsured and underinsured, nutritional supplements for survivors in treatment, durable medical equipment loans, salon services for wigs & styling, and bras & prosthetics. We offer Psychosocial assessments, social work services, and professional counseling. We provide Living Well with Cancer education series, ongoing community education, prevention and screening events, support groups and peer support activities in our Wellness Center. In addition, we supply Necessities Bags to women and men undergoing mastectomy surgery through local breast care centers. Our programs help those living with cancer feel more hopeful and empowered to manage their cancer treatment and survivorship.
