The Vanderburgh Humane Society is a 501(c)3 charity that operates an Open Admissions Animal Shelter and Low Cost Spay/Neuter Clinic.
About This Cause
Organized in 1957, The Vanderburgh Co. Humane Society operates an Open Admissions Animal Shelter and Low Cost Spay/Neuter Clinic that helps over 10,000 animals every year thru a variety of programs. The sheltering program takes in between 2500 - 3,000 animals per year with a 85% adoption rate. All of the animals adopted from the shelter are altered, vaccinated and microchipped. The Spay/Neuter Clinic performs over 7,000 low cost or free surgeries every year and operates a low cost vaccine clinic on the weekend. Additional opportunities include an active Volunteer Program, Educational tours and Presentations, Pet Food Assistance program, a Safe-Pet program for Domestic Violence victims and more.
