About This Cause
With a legacy that began 150 years ago with our founding by the Sisters of the Holy Cross and the Poor Handmaids of Jesus Christ in Northern Indiana, Saint Joseph Health System has lived our core values of justice and dignity by investing deeply in healthcare access for communities in need across our nine-county service area, including those lacking financial resources for care. The Foundation of Saint Joseph Health System, established in 1985, raises philanthropic dollars to underwrite care for those who cannot afford it, to augment capital investments in technology to better serve patients and to support community health and well-being efforts that reflect our mission of being a compassionate and transforming healing presence in our communities.
