Mission Statement
Horizon House is a full-service agency that connects our homeless neighbors with integrated, comprehensive services. We provide a safe place and basic services for our community’s homeless, serving them with dignity and respect, as they take steps towards a more stable life. From shelter for a day . . . to stability for a lifetime.
About This Cause
As the only secular day shelter in Indianapolis, Horizon House fulfills the community’s need to provide a safe, accessible and welcoming space for individuals experiencing homelessness. Horizon House, however, offers much more to our neighbors (clients) than a safe space – the array of comprehensive and collaborative services function as a multi-service community center for individuals and families experiencing homelessness in Indianapolis. For 30 years, the agency has provided services (basic, professional, outreach and co-located) that help empower our neighbors to find and maintain housing and meet life's critical needs. Horizon House serves no fewer than 3,000 homeless individuals each year, exclusively serving any adult (or child accompanied by a parent or legal guardian) in Marion County experiencing homelessness regardless of race, creed, ethnicity, national origin, sexual orientation, gender identity, family composition, educational background, religion or disability. All neighbors served are deemed “low income,” and most earn less than 30% of AMI.
