Created by Alexander Calder, the festival logo was give to the people of the Grand Rapids area who started festival in 1970 one year after the dedication of Calder's la Grand Vitesse.

Festival is an annual celebration of the arts in an eight-county area of West Michigan and it is centered in Grand Rapids.
