Mission Statement
Wynona’s House, a free-standing, fully co-located Child Advocacy Center in Essex County, New Jersey, promotes justice and healing for child victims of maltreatment by coordinating investigative, prosecutorial, treatment and prevention services.
About This Cause
In partnering with the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office (ECPO), the Metro Regional Diagnostic and Treatment Center (RDTC) of Newark Beth Israel Medical Center, and the Department of Children and Families’ Division of Child Protection and Permanency (DCP&P) the Center is able to create a community where our children are safe, families are strong and victims become children again. Our multidisciplinary team approach is essential in ensuring the availability of support services for the child victims and their non-offending family members. Such services include: forensic interviews, medical evaluations and treatment, mental health evaluations, therapeutic interventions, victim support/advocacy, case reviews, case tracking, community awareness programs, and specialized training for CAC staff.
