About This Cause
The Fort Wayne Children’s Zoo has served the citizens of our community since 1965, offering a variety of recreational and educational experiences. More than 20 million visitors have enjoyed a visit to the zoo, encountering wildlife in a beautiful, naturalistic setting. The zoo is a special place for families – a place to spend a day together having fun, learning, and bonding as a family. The Children’s Zoo is also a special place for children. 75,000 students visit the zoo each year and another 90,000 receive programs and material in their classrooms. The Fort Wayne Children’s Zoo receives no tax revenue for operations or improvements. The zoo relies on earned revenue and donations. The mission of the Children’s Zoo is: Connect kids and animals Strengthen families Inspire people to care. The zoo’s vision is simple: Fort Wayne Children’s Zoo will be the nation’s best zoo for children of all ages.
