The St. Vincent Hospital Foundation raises funds to benefit St. Vincent Indianapolis Hospital and its patients. The Foundation solicits and manages donations for a variety of programs that enhance patient care, especially the poor and vulnerable, as well as capital projects, medical equipment and technology. The goal of the Foundation is to make a positive difference in the lives and health status of individuals and communities and to generate financial resources to support the overall Mission of St. Vincent.
About This Cause
The St. Vincent Hospital Foundation supports the ministries of St. Vincent Indianapolis Hospital and its patients. In addition to the main, 400-bed acute care hospital, St. Vincent Indianapolis Hospital ministries also include St. Vincent Women’s Hospital, Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital at St. Vincent, St. Vincent Seton Specialty Hospital for individuals requiring longer term care and treatment, and St. Vincent Stress Center for individuals battling mental illness and/or addictions. The principal activity of St. Vincent Indianapolis Hospital is to provide comprehensive healthcare services at each of its facilities. All populations are served. In fact, the history and mission of St.Vincent include a strong emphasis on providing care to the poor and vulnerable. Combined annual inpatient volume at St. Vincent Indianapolis campus facilities in the most recent fiscal year totals approximately 40,000. These totals included patients from every county in Indiana and even neighboring states. The Hospital has received numerous awards for quality of care, and is consistently ranked nationally in many specialty areas such as cardiovascular care, critical care, stroke care, and orthopedic services. In recent years, the St. Vincent Hospital Foundation has raised funds for numerous hospital programs and initiatives. These include a capital campaign to build a St. Vincent House which serves as a home-away-from-home for families of St. Vincent patients from outside the Indianapolis area, as well as a new healthcare education and simulation center that will serve the education and training needs of both current and aspiring healthcare professionals. The foundation has also raised funds for other programs that enhance patient care. These include, but are not limited to, a comprehensive art therapy program, a new cardiovascular research institute, cancer care technology and support services, and a staff teacher to help pediatric patients keep up with schoolwork while hospitalized.
