About This Cause
UCAN strives to build strong youth and families through compassionate healing, education, and empowerment. As a leading organization in trauma-informed care, UCAN serves and impacts over 12,500 youth and families annually through a continuum of care and engagement programs that meet clients in communities and schools across Chicago, including west and south side neighborhoods such as North Lawndale and Roseland. Working with the IL Department of Children and Family Services, our impact as a child welfare provider extends throughout the state of Illinois. UCAN’s culturally relevant services focus on mental health support, youth leadership development, workforce development, and violence intervention and prevention. Through this work, we advance our vision that youth who have suffered trauma can become our future leaders.
