Mission Statement
Since 1857, Metropolitan Family Services has helped Chicago-area families find their strength. It is the beacon of hope they can always count on. Metropolitan empowers families to learn, to earn, to heal and to thrive. Services are provided through one of Metropolitan’s seven Community Centers; North Center; Evanston-Skokie Center; Southeast Center; Midway Center, Southwest Center, and DuPage Center Programs and services fall within four broad categories: Economic Stability, Education, Emotional Wellness and Empowerment. In 2015 more than 68,000 families benefitted from the programs and services offered by Metropolitan Family Services.
About This Cause
Metropolitan Family Services offers a holistic approach to service. Education programs provide young people and parents for success, from the early years throughout school, and all the way to college. Economic Stability programs provide families with the tools to find and maintain employment, achieve financial literacy, and build family income. Metropolitan's Emotional Wellness programs encourage healthy and productive lives through counseling and mental health services, violence prevention and intervention and older adult services. Empowerment programs help families stand up and be heard by providing legal advocacy services to the Chicago area's most vulnerable citizens. Metropolitan Family Services inspires, invests in families and communities, creates hope, innovates and adapts, builds community and makes a life-changing difference for those most at risk.
