Mission Statement
Assisting with the learning and developmentally disabled youth and adults to become self-sufficient and self directed in areas of personal growth, general health, education, social and emotional well-being and functional living skills. To provide a structured residential program for developmentally disabled adults in need of twenty-four hour assistance in learning and practicing daily living skills, personal interaction, and enhancing self-esteem. To provide a unique learning environment that facilitates specialized services for multiple handicapped youth who are unable to benefit from available public school programs. To provide a loving and trusting environment in which individuals can function to their fullest potential as human beings without regard to race, religion, sex or national origin, thus enabling them to become responsible, respected members of family, community and society.
About This Cause
Clare Woods Academy is a non-public, non-profit alternative day school providing a unique, specialized educational environment in a therapeutic day school setting. We currently accept applications for children and young adults ages 5 to 22. Our programming addresses learning and behavior disabilities. Many of our students are also on the Autism Spectrum. In addition to our education program, services include occupational therapy, speech/language, and counseling.
