Since the Center is community based and supported, all funds earned by the Center go directly back into programs and services. These include, but are not limited to: assessment, treatment, hearing aids, assistive communication devices, contracted educational services, public education and occupational hearing conservation. Sertoma Speech and Hearing Centers provides products and services to individuals of all ages, genders, races, sexual orientations and ability levels/ Sertoma believes our purpose is to advocate, promote and encourage the prevention and rehabilitation of hearing, speech and language disorders including deafness through rehabilitative, therapeutic and educational programs. We further believe that Sertoma should cooperate and collaborate with other organizations to promote the cause of the communicatively impaired.
About This Cause
We are the only not-for-profit community based speech and hearing center in the south and southwest Chicago region. We have fulfilled our mission of providing hearing and speech services to the community since 1978. With 10% of the populations having some degree of speech or hearing problem, and with the state of today's economy, the community's need for our services and prices grow yearly. In addition to the available free and scaled fee services, 25% of our usual and customer fees are subsidized. The Center is sponsored by the Great Lakes Regional Sertoma Clubs, Sertoma Foundation, Unity Way of Southwest Cook County and United Way of WIll County.
