About This Cause
Greater Chicago Legal Clinic, formerly known as the Chicago Legal Clinic, was founded in 1981 to address the legal needs of area workers who lost their jobs due to the reduction of steel mill operations in South Chicago. Over the past four decades, the Clinic has grown into a legal service provider for the broader Chicago area. Clinic programs offer legal representation in areas of law including housing security, family, immigration, criminal records, and environmental law. Our vision is to build a society where there are no service gaps in the justice system, so that all Chicago-area communities have equal access to quality legal representation—regardless of income or background.
