About This Cause
For nearly fifty years, NARAL Pro-Choice Minnesota Foundation has been working to support and protect a woman’s right to choose. With your help, we’ve trained hundreds of young people and people of color to develop the leadership and organizing skills necessary to mobilize for their rights through Campus Organizing, the Trust Project and the Choice Leadership Institute. You’ve also helped expose the danger crisis pregnancy centers (CPCs) pose to vulnerable women through miseducation about their health care options. Your support has enabled us to escort clinic patients, giving women dignity in accessing abortion. But our work is not done. We need you to stand up with us for the right to choose. Minnesota has the opportunity to fix the Hobby Lobby ruling by enacting the Contraceptive Health Equity and Employee Rights (CHEER) Act. The CHEER Act would require employer health plans to include coverage for all FDA approved contraceptive methods and procedures if the employer’s health plan provides prescription drug coverage to its employees. NARAL Pro-Choice Minnesota Foundation is advocating for the CHEER Act and educating Minnesotans about the economic burden of the Hobby Lobby ruling on women and families. The Foundation’s power comes from the strength of people – our grassroots member base stretches across Minnesota and the country, and we educate and engage tens of thousands of people every year.
