About This Cause
The Minnesota Brain Injury Alliance (MNBIA) is the only state-wide nonprofit organization in Minnesota devoted solely to serving the needs of individuals affected by brain injury through our mission to raise awareness and enhance the quality of life for all people affected by brain injury. We envision a world where all avoidable brain injuries are prevented and where non-preventable brain injuries are met with impassioned advocacy, extraordinary services, knowledgeable professionals, and quality choices. We work toward a Minnesota where everyone recognizes brain injury, its causes and effects, and where all individuals living with brain injury are encouraged to realize their full potential and their value to our community. Formed in 1984, the Minnesota chapter of the National Head Injury Foundation began as a non-profit organization dedicated to raising awareness of stroke and providing advocacy services. Today, the MNBIA employs more than 75 professional staff and works with many volunteers who provide advocacy, education, resources and referral services for the over 100,000 Minnesotans with brain injury, their loved ones and the professionals who work with them.
