Mission Statement
Cubs Charities harnesses the passion of Cubs fans to improve the lives of children and families across Chicago and beyond. Our goal is provide increased access to sports opportunities and target improvements in health, fitness and education for those in need.
About This Cause
Cubs Charities is committed to providing under served youth and families opportunities in the areas of health, fitness and education. Cubs Charities direct community programs include: Cubs Scholars, Cubs on the Move Fitness Program and Cubs Charities Diamond Project. Cubs Scholars is a 5-year college prep, counseling, scholarship and mentoring program for high performing, high need Chicago high school students. Cubs on the Move Fitness Program brings physical activity into inner city neighborhoods to spread the "Play Every Day" message. The goal is to increase activity levels and change children's perceptions about fitness. Cubs Charities Diamond Project provides funding for baseball and softball field renovation and construction in under served communities in order to create or preserve green space, expand opportunities for children to play baseball or softball and foster a love of the game. In addition, Cubs Charities supports Cubs Care, a McCormick Foundation fund, with a major grant to support effective nonprofit programs in the areas of youth education and health and wellness.
