Mission Statement

The Blind Foundation for India (BFI) Charter is to prevent and cure blindness, and educate and rehabilitate permanently blind people in India.

About This Cause

Since 1989 BFI is in operation to address the preventable blindness in India which has 15 million blind people accounting to 1/3rd of the World's blind population. So far, the BFI Team has raised over $7 million to perform 280,000 free Cataract operations, donated 10,000 Braille Kits for blind children's education, gave 144 Vans to transport eye doctors and patients, and examined over one million school children for their eye sight and provided necessary interventions. Over one million adults received free eyesight checkups by BFI's medical partners.
