Mission Statement

BMT InfoNet is a not-for-profit 501(c)3 organization dedicated to providing patients and their loved ones with emotional support and high quality, easy-to-understand information about blood stem cell transplants (bone marrow, peripheral blood and cord blood) and other cellular therapies such as CAR-T therapy. Since 1990, our network of medical experts, transplant and cellular therapy survivors, and family caregivers have helped families navigate the transplant and cellular therapy experience. Whether you are just beginning your transplant or cellular therapy journey, or learning to manage the joys and challenges of survivorship, BMT InfoNet is here to help before, during and after treatment. Our goal is to empower you with credible information and emotional support, so that you can take a more active role in decisions affecting your health.

About This Cause

BMT InfoNet was founded in 1990 by bone marrow transplant survivor, Susan Stewart, to support patients going through transplant and their loved ones. Our services are available to patients worldwide and include: 1. Handbooks, written in easy-to-understand language, that educate patients about how to plan for a transplant, what to expect during transplant, and how to manage the medical, psychosocial and financial issues that can arise after transplant. 2. A one-on-one peer support program, called Caring Connections, that links patients who about to go through transplant with transplant survivors who can provide emotional support. The program is open to a patient's family members as well. 3. An online directory of transplant centers and CAR T -cell therapy centers in the U.S. with detailed information about the center's experience, certification, number of transplant performed, and personnel. 4. An annual survivorship symposium designed to educate transplant and CAR T survivors and their loved ones how to manage the many medical, psychosocial and emotional challenges they may face after transplant. 4. Educational webinars about transplants and CAR T for a variety of disorders and management of transplant related complications. 5. Print and online resource directory with information about other organizations that provide financial assistance to patients, disease information, and other support services of value to the transplant community. 6. A website, bmtinfonet.org, that features extensive information about what to expect before, during and after treatment; videos about managing complications after treatment as well as appropriate timing and patient selection for transplants; access to books and brochures about treatment and related issues; access to the Caring Connections program; and inspiring stories about survivors and their family caregiver. 7. A financial assistance program to help patients with a limited income pay for food, lodging, transportation and utilities while undergoing treatment. 8. Individual counseling to help patients and family members find answers to questions, services such as donor testing, and emotional support. Our goal is to empower patients with knowledge and emotional support to enable them to make the best healthcare decision for their individual situation.
