Mission Statement
The mission of the Westside Health Authority is to build upon the capacity of ordinary residents in strengthening the health and wellness of their own community.
About This Cause
Westside Health Authority (WHA) is a non-profit community development organization serving Chicago’s Austin neighborhood for over 30 years. WHA has grown from a group of volunteers organizing for change in Austin, to an organization with program offerings that span across 5 service areas: reentry & community employment support, youth employment and mentoring support, community wellness support, community property development, and economic development. A significant component of economic development department is the provision of programs and services for designated Special Service Areas - a commercial and residential corridor charged with ensuring vibrancy and business sustainability along one of Austin’s busiest corridors.
