Mission Statement
We are the Disney Magnet PTA (Walt Disney Magnet School Parent-Teacher Association). Our mission is to engage and empower families, teachers and the community of Walt Disney Magnet School to provide important educational resources, speak up on important issues and create a stronger school community. Walt Disney Magnet School is located in Chicago, IL.

At Walt Disney Magnet School, we live by the African philosophy of Ubuntu, which emphasizes interconnectedness, empathy, and shared humanity. We believe that our students, families, and staff thrive because of our strong sense of community, where everyone plays a role in our collective success. Disney has long been a cornerstone of academic excellence and cultural diversity in Chicago. While we continue to excel with strong enrollment and top-tier performance, we’re facing a financial challenge for the 2024/2025 school year. Recent changes to the city’s funding model have led to a reduced budget, and we need help maintaining our academic and arts programs. We’re committed to providing high-quality education and are actively working to find creative solutions, with the support of our community, to bridge the gap. This is where you come in.
